2019 Science Symposium
NEW DATE: Saturday, January 25, 2020
Location: Russell House University Union, UofSC Main Campus (directions). Parking is in the Bull Street Garage adjacent to the Russell House.
Check-in begins at 8 am
Who can attend?
Anyone! Our 11th Annual Science Symposium will be open to any member of the public who choses to register. This is our chance to show off the great work produced by SC INBRE! Submit your abstract, register and encourage others to also register to attend (students, like last year, your families are invited to attend the poster session - details to come)!
What is the Science Symposium?
SC INBRE Developmental Research Project and Bioinformatics Pilot Project Program funded faculty will give talks on their research. Students will have judged poster sessions. Symposium will also include a networking lunch – a chance for you to meet others who are performing research in the topic area you chose when you register. Returning for a second year will be a Bioinformatics roundtable, best practices discussion lead by our Bioinformatics Core director, Dr. Homay Valafar.
NEW THIS YEAR:
3-Minute Madness student podium presentations
Bioinformatics Workshop: Basic Genomic Analysis in R. Open to anyone, but you must register to attend.
Student Workshop: How to write prepare for an interview
Exhibits by our representatives from SC INBRE’s Service Cores and available SC COBRE Service Cores
How can you be involved?
If you are not presenting a talk or a poster, the student posters are juried and we need JUDGES! Please consider volunteering to help us out. We can never have too many judges! Please let us know if you can assist us with this vital task by checking “Yes” to the question on the registration form!
